Ukraine won’t need IMF tranches if lottery operators pay taxes

The political expert Nikolay Spiridonov has announced on his Facebook page that if Ukraine receives taxes from the lottery business, the country won’t need IMF tranches.

Spiridonov has said that in fact lotteries in Ukraine belong to shadow economy and the real business volume amounts to approximately 40 billion UAH.

He emphasized the necessity of creating a new draft law on regulating the lottery business in the Ministry of Finance. He believes that the lottery license should cost 168, 4 million UAH which equals to 100 000 living wages. Lottery companies are capable of paying for licenses because they get quite big profits.

The expert has revealed that Russian companies control a lot of Ukrainian lottery operators. So Russian social networks were banned in the country but a multimillion business wasn’t. That’s why it is about time Ukraine implemented official licenses for the lottery business.
