The SSU has closed down Lucky Labs

The Security Service of Ukraine searched Lucky Labs office in Kiev. Senior management was accused of running illegal online gambling business and aiding terrorism in occupied regions of Eastern Ukraine. It was stated in the announcement from Lucky Labs.

Company representatives reported that their office was blocked by the SSU and “Alfa” officers. They expropriated all documents and around fifty computers. Besides that, company accounts were blocked as well.

Lucky Labs lawyer claimed that security officials had committed a lot of violations: court judgement was presented only in two hours after beginning of the operation and fifty employees were held in the office illegally.

Kirill Sigida, representative of Lucky Labs, said that accusations of organizing illegal business and aiding terrorism were absurd. During the Shuster Live TV show he voiced an opinion that security officials put pressure on IT industry because they think that it is getting super profits.

Advisor to the SSU Head Yuriy Tandit said that searches of the company were supported by court decision. According to his data, company activities were covering gambling business, which raised revenues on the territory of DNR, LNR and Crimea.

This story has become high-profile, as far as it’s not for the first time that the SSU accuses representatives of IT segment of aiding terrorism in Eastern region.
