Francesco Baranca, chairman of Committee on Ethics and Fair Play of Football Federation of Ukraine, said that mass media representatives could freely attend some committee meetings. Besides, the information of adopted decisions will be posted on the Internet after meetings.
Baranca made this statement after excluding all journalists from the committee. The expert assured that mass media representatives still could attend meetings and highlight them in media. Although, now one should submit a corresponding application one day before the meeting.
Baranca explained that he decided to reorganize the committee in order to make it a single professional body able to fight against fixed matches and corruption in Ukrainian football. Nevertheless, committee operations will be absolutely transparent.
The Italian expert also stressed that he was going to engage law enforcement authorities in committee activity in future.
We would like to remind that the anti-corruption prosecutor has recently joined the FFU. Nazar Kholodnitskiy, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine, was appointed to this position. He will closely cooperate with the Committee on Ethics and Fair Play.
